Reporting a bug or a wrong forecast

Four details turn a report into a fix, so please include them where they apply:

  • App version and iOS version — the app version is at the bottom of the Settings tab.
  • Device — iPhone model, and whether an Apple Watch was involved.
  • Spot and time — which spot, and roughly when. Forecast complaints are only checkable against a specific spot and hour.
  • A screenshot — especially for anything that looks wrong on screen.

Frequently asked

Do I need an account?

No. Veer has no sign-up, login, or password. Your sessions, gear, and settings live on your device. That also means there is no account for us to look up when you write in, so tell us what you were doing rather than who you are.

How do I manage or cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and manage or cancel it there. Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.

I want a refund.

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves, but tell us what went wrong — if the app failed you, we want to know.

I paid, but the app says I am on the free tier.

Open the paywall and tap Restore purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. If it still does not restore, email us the Apple receipt and we will sort it out.

My alerts are not arriving.

Check that notifications are allowed for Veer in iOS Settings → Notifications, that the alert rule is switched on, and that a Focus or Sleep mode is not silencing it. Alerts only fire when the forecast actually meets the thresholds you set — a quiet week of wind is a quiet week of alerts.

A spot is missing, misplaced, or wrong.

Send us the spot name and coordinates and we will correct the catalogue. The whole catalogue is public at /api/spots if you want to check what we currently hold for it.

How accurate is jump detection?

Jump height and airtime ship as a labelled beta, with a confidence value shown per jump, because phone and watch sensors are honest about some jumps and guessy about others. Treat it as a good indication, not a competition result — and send us the sessions where it clearly got it wrong.

Can you delete my data?

Deleting the app removes your on-device data — sessions, gear, and settings — since that is where it lives. For anything held on our side (a push token, alert rules, anything you submitted), email us and we will delete it. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

Is the app safe to rely on for going out on the water?

No forecast is. Veer is a planning tool — conditions change, and the decision to launch stays yours. Please read the Safety Disclaimer.
