Safety Disclaimer & Terms of Reliance
Effective: July 24, 2026 · Last Updated: July 25, 2026
Kitesurfing, wing foiling, windsurfing, and all associated wind sports are inherently dangerous activities carried out in dynamic marine environments. Participating in these sports involves significant risks of property damage, severe bodily injury, or death.
1. Informational & Educational Purposes Only
All content, numerical model forecasts, wind speed estimates, direction vectors, tide predictions, RideScores, hazard warnings, and spot information provided by the Veer application are generated for informational and convenience purposes only. Weather model predictions and atmospheric data can change rapidly, contain errors, or fail to capture localized micro-climates, gust fronts, or sudden squalls.
Plain-language summaries, "reads", score explanations, and session recaps in the app are generated automatically (in part by on-device AI) as a convenience rendering of the same underlying model data. They may be incomplete or wrong, they are not safety advice, instruction, or a professional weather briefing, and they must never be used as the basis for a go/no-go decision on the water.
2. Individual Rider Responsibility
You, as the rider, assume 100% full personal responsibility for your safety and decisions on and off the water. Before launching or entering any body of water, you must:
- Independently verify real-time, onshore wind conditions, gust strength, sea state, and tide levels.
- Assess your personal physical fitness, technical skill level, and experience relative to current conditions.
- Inspect all kite, bar, line, safety release, harness, and board equipment for wear or failure risks.
- Identify and respect local launch rules, swimmer zones, maritime regulations, offshore wind risks, and physical hazards (rocks, shallow reefs, power lines, pilings).
- Never ride alone or without a reliable safety plan and flotation / impact gear appropriate for the conditions.
3. No Guarantee of Data Accuracy or Availability
We do not warrant or guarantee the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or availability of any data displayed within the app. Weather observations from METAR or third-party weather stations may be delayed, offline, or located miles away from your exact riding zone. Relying solely on app forecasts to make safety decisions is dangerous.
Crowd reports, presence ("I'm here now" / "I'm going"), and spot corrections are submitted by other riders, not verified by us, and must not be relied on for safety decisions.
4. Not an Emergency or Life-Saving Service
The Veer app is not a life-saving tool, distress beacon, or emergency communication system. It is not a replacement for certified professional instruction, local weather briefings, or coast guard safety bulletins.
5. Absolute Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the creators, developers, owners, data providers, and affiliates of the Veer application shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to personal injury, loss of life, medical expenses, property loss, or equipment damage, arising from your use of, or reliance upon, any information, features, or recommendations in the app.
6. Agreement & Acknowledgment
By installing, opening, or using the Veer application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the terms of this Safety Disclaimer and assume all risks associated with your wind sports activities. This Safety Disclaimer is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
